Mission Statement

Hero P.A.W.S. (Providing Assistance Work and Service) is a non-profit organization founded to assist the growing needs of Arizona's heroes.  As a 501 (c)(3) non-profit we proudly provide Service or Therapeutic Companion dog training at no cost to U.S. Military Veterans, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and EMS personnel living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  If a client needs a dog, we support our heroes through rescued and donated dogs. While some programs will not allow personal dogs into a program, at Hero P.A.W.S. we provide evaluations and temperament testing to determine if a client's dog, and the bond they have created, meets our criteria to become a service animal.

What We Do

Making A Difference

We believe in giving back to those who have given so much. We provide assistance at no cost to our heroes suffering from PTSD or TBI, in the form of training shelter dogs or their own dog to become a Service dog or Therapeutic Companion dog. Our Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMS and Military Veterans living with PTSD can benefit from the unconditional love that a dog can give. Once an individual is accepted into our training program, they will be paired with a dog adopted from a local shelter, or with a dog already owned by them.  They will live and train together from that point forward.  Training includes basic obedience, public outings and tasks specific to each individual's PTSD symptoms.
